Life On Hold

Post by ooptec on March 31st 2014, 11:03 am

man, it's like being on the telephone on hold.

Like to clean coop but still frozen

Like to start working prepping gardens, but still under snow.

Like to sit outside producing Vit-D watching the boids but too cold

Like to start cutting fence lines, but still under snow

End up putting on the space suit, wandering around yard for a few laps and back into the house.

Can't even go ice fishing now

Oh dear. You are living in the wrong spot of Saskatchewan. No freezing rain here. Poor you! :-(

Fowler lives in the Maritimes, so he can keep his freezing rain Razz

Spring probably isn't coming, we'll just dive head long into summer again.

Aw....that is too bad, Fowler. Living in the wrong spot of Canada I should say.  Sad
Keep faith! It will come. One day.

Too early for pussy willows here. This morning it was -18, but they say that it should be getting at least to 0* by tomorrow. We still have lots of snow, even though a lot has melted. They say that the frost went down this year anywhere from 8-10'. It makes me wonder what kind of flooding we will see, overland and otherwise. We are far enough from the Assiniboine Valley, so all we really have to worry about is overland.

It looks like spring might actually be here in our area...and FINALLY we can tap those maples. I hope that we will tap them tonight!!!  Very Happy  We have been waiting and waiting... Once we get some it will be sitting outside, tending the fire. The temperatures look good enough to do get sap at least for one week. Two weeks or more would be better, though, but I doubt that will happen.
