My New 'bator Is On The Way

Post by ooptec on March 31st 2014, 2:41 pm

Vanc truckers 4 week strike is over, my new 'bator was sitting in one of the containers

Dias thanked B.C. politicians while criticizing the federal government. "The reality is ... there's not a willingness to find a solution," he said, noting daily attempts to contact federal transport minister Lisa Raitt that were ignored. "There's more of a desire to have a fight with unions ... Their solution was take it or leave it."

Provincial ministers Bond and Stone stepped forward and took the leadership role, he said, mentioning that the opposition provincial NDP were also supportive.

Had a couple of those ...... sold them this spring for this http://www.amazon.com/EGGCUBATOR-DIGITAL-INCUBATOR-AUTOMATIC-CHICKEN/dp/B00IMVK52W/ref=pd_sim_sbs_lg_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=1QSMKM8P1C1276KRKGXQ You can get cheaper, but the newest models have the slanted control panel. Mine is the older (last years model) w/the squared control panel. Works great so far, no styrofoam, all digital w/temp and humidity displayed. Lots of people like the styrofoam models, FI and Hovo. I had trouble w/them going back to temp after lifting the lid. As I cool and mist duck eggs daily hatching ducklets found it to be a real pain.

Edit to Add: you have to get a real accurate thermometer to place inside them, the one on the controls isn't even in the ballpark. That was another thing I didn't like. Not easy finding a good thermometer either, Once had 5 diff digital ones in there, one even has cert certificate and none of them agreed w/another. At least a glass lab one you can check in ice water, but hard to read.

Waiting for this (paid for) http://www.svendirect.com/svenzun-incubator-eggs-88/

Not all is rosy tho, emailed this guy a couple of times and no answer back, now see website is down for maintenance. Will try phoning, hope he's just waiting for truck.

Hey

I like the look of the Eggcubator other then it looks like the power supply is in the front right on the control panel. it looks easy to clean. do you think with it being unsulated would have any effect on temp. ? please let us know how it works out

I already have a temp/humidity. probe and its calibrated using a RTD fluke meter and checked it with my bator its not bad and i got the glass therometer set right now so its reading great

gong to give it a run next week and see how it all works out , going to be my first time doing this

So far holds rock steady and recovers in mere minutes after opened.

Been off the wood furnace for awhile and in AM house could be down to 60°F but 'bator doesn't care

Did lay some flat unopened plastic bags over the water chamber to bring humidity down, but at least when open gets humidity high for last few days. and only other small niggle is you have to open lid one way or unplugs the turner

Maybe that's something they improved in new model

There is more room between the heating element and the eggs which I like too. In the FI ones I had goosie eggs were almost touching the element

Ends up guy was waiting for truck (vancouver truckers strike) and goes thru each one as sometimes the assembly line needs a little back up. Patiently waiting still but feel better than when he wasn't answering emails and website down. Might have been away too.
