Chick ? What to do
So my few turkeys were laying outside ( free range ) and then after a nest full of eggs were laid they abandoned the nest so I put them under a couple of my broody Cuckoo Marans , and low and behold I have one chick so far ! rouble being that the last time there were any chicks hatched ( chicken ) the other hens came and fought over them .......I think anyways ? ......and the chicks got killed ! This nest is three feet off of the ground and I'm not sure how it will get them down , and today is day 2 or three for the chick so it must be thirsty by now so do I take it away and raise it or leave it and hope for the best ????????????????????????

Can you take chick and hen and temporarily cordon off from the mob for a week?

? it would rather hard seeing as she still has about five more eggs to hatch . I am taking it away for it's own safety , better chance of getting big this way I think .

Yes take away, put it under a light for heat and buy chick starter to get him going..make sure to give him water asap.
Chicks only have a 24 hour supply from the egg..after 24 hours they truly need to drink and eat.
