This may take a try or two but I'm going to try to post some pics of my herd.  















Boars are purebred Berkshire. I have purebred Berkshire sows and also some crosses.

Thanks! Will start farrowing the group out by mid June. I wanted to get the boars in earlier but this winter's been a real pain.

How much land do you keep these guys on? They're lovely, I like the straight back.

At the moment this group is in about a 10 acre block. They don't like to walk in deep snow so they only use about half of it. I intend to put the dry sows in a 20-30 acre paddock during summer. Lactating sows will be grouped into 4-5 acre plots. They graze very well with hog rings in. Boars will go back into a corral once the ground thaws up.

I only have 1 Large Black sow and I believe it's a cross. Good mother but not as docile as the Berkshires.
