Moderation and how it works

Sections of this forum have moderation indicators in parenthesis.  They mean the following:
(U) – Unmoderated; barring conversations involving rape, pornographic material, the exploitation of children, or terrorism, you are on your own.  Forums with this symbol are not regulated.  If you wish to be a jerk, please be aware that other people will remember that and moderators will not come to your rescue.  In an effort to create an environment wherein people can both share knowledge and ask questions, we intend, for the most part, to allow people to self-moderate.  Part of growing within a community involves off-topic discussion and debate that can remain cordial and objective while sharing ones views and opinions.  Be nice, do not use this opportunity to sling sand and then whine when it gets blown back in your face

(HM) – Heavily Moderated – There is no tolerance for attacks or disrespect in these threads.  ‘Offensive’ or off-colour is defined by the Administrators and Moderators of the forum and is subject to their opinions.  A warning will be issued within the thread and continued trouble will escalate discipline, and could result in your account being banned.

Threads without symbols are moderated in a non-restrictive fashion.  Please self-moderate.
