Hello from the Foothills of Alberta Empty Hello from the Foothills of Alberta

Hi: We moved across the country in 2011 with 12 hens, a rooster, a cooler full of pond fish, 2 dogs, 2 cats and a perennial garden on a flatbed trailer (from SW Ont ~ Lion's Head to be exact, zone 5A to just NW of Calgary in the foothills, zone 3A). I have been amazed at how much can grow in this climate and dismayed at the stuff that wouldn't survive. But I am learning. I'm hoping to have "working" food gardens this year. I've tried winter sowing for the first time. And I'm adding a small aquaponic system to help with filtration for the garden pond (2 birds with one stone). We rent on about 2 acres with a small barn. Looking forward to giving and receiving advice here.

welcome, I lived in Alberta before we moved to SK, indeed lots to grow..maybe just not everything you want.
But even on the prairie you get your pantry full to survive the winter.
