Getting close....

She came into heat and bolted through the wire during winter. Ran about half a mile to the boars in the corral so I let her in the pen with them. I was a little worried because she only got bred one day but she looks like she's got a good batch in her.

I forget exactly which day she was bred but looks like she'll farrow in about 7-10 days.

Still hasn't popped....  

She's closing in though, probably in the next day or two. I've put her in a farrowing crate and setup the heat lamps. I don't mind if she wants to hold off a couple more days and wait for the weather to warm up a bit.

I'll clarify she only bolted through the wire because it wasn't working properly for a week or two. The sows usually don't test it but will if they're in heat and there's no boars in with them.

Arrived to the farm after work on Monday to babies.....  ......Just not the right kind  







Going to find a nice box for them before the piglets arrive and squash them.

Ew. I read that wrong. I must need more sleep. I read that you were going to squash some sort of babies after you found a box.       I am glad that I took the time to rethink those thoughts and use proper grammar...as you wrote it.

What you are planning to do is much better.

They are very cute. So tiny. The mother's eyes are such a beautiful blue.

Maybe the pig will get a hint from the cat.

She farrowed overnight. Checked her at 10:00 p.m and nothing. Fell asleep but checked her at 6 a.m to find she had finished already. Kittens were still there but I moved them to their own spot. I did this plenty of times beforehand but the mom kept bringing them back.

She had 8, very hardy piglets. I'm happy with the litter as she only got bred at the end of her heat.
