Yum. Can I come over to help you eat some? That is my favorite meat. Ah, but I bet it is all gone by now.
My husband went elk hunting (archery) with a brother in law one year. They saw a large one, but were unable to shoot it due to a couple of frustrating factors. Too bad, but they did come back with an exciting story, at least.
We saw moose tracks close by our place just yesterday. They are finally up and out of their winter hiding places and starting to wander around where we might actually catch a glimpse of them again. Yay! They have been increasing in numbers quite a bit here over the past few years. When we moved here, you would not have seen any sign of them, but it is becoming more common now.
Hopefully our dog stays clear. The breed is used for hunting large game (moose in particular) in Norway and some other countries, but we cannot use them for that here, of course. We would have quite the problem on our hands if she decided to corner one for "the hunter." In the past, our dog has kept things cornered for "the hunter" for days, keeping her target in a specific area until they were shot. We are fortunate that she has not gone after any moose or elk yet. As much as that could be interesting, we don't want to encounter that situation.
Have you hunted moose more than once, Ballyrag?
