New Manitoban Homesteader wannabe
Hi guys, just checking things out here and looking forward to meeting other Canucks heading down the same path.
I'm a small building contractor in the Brandon area dreaming of exiting the rat race (or at least slowing down enough to savour the time we have).
We have a small 7 acre piece in Kemnay (10 min west of Brandon) that is thankfully zoned for small scale ag enterprises. We are in the planning stages at this point. Planting fruit trees and dreaming!

Welcome to the threads! It's so amazing to watch your dream flourish into reality. Sometimes it's devastating, but most time, it's like a beautiful fresh breath of cool air.

WooHoo! We are approximately 30 min. from you. We have a number of varied animals & active children and have a very small acreage, although our neighboring farmer has been generous enough to let us use some of his land as well. We are currently needing more space indoors and out to continue chasing our dream.
Would you be interested in meeting some local others who are interested in the same things? If you have noticed my signature below, there are a few of us who have connected through this forum & eBrandon who wish to get together, learn from each other, and help each other reach our goals through doing so. We are very excited about our newly formed network.
Some of us are getting together for the first time this coming Saturday (April 5), for a noon meal & afternoon of getting to know each other better, checking out each other's resources, and so on. If you are interested in something like this (whether you can make it on the 5th or not), either pm me or email, and I will let you know more.
So happy to have you here!
